“A Picture tells a thousand words.”
This quote is more important then ever when thinking of a businesses social media posts. The wording of a social media post is important, but the image catches potential customers attention when they are scrolling through their news feeds.
Remember, the brain processes images 60,000 times faster than text. People recall 80% of what they see and only 20% of what they read.
To help you with this, I have put together a post with a few of, what I think, are the best apps for designing kick ass images quickly and easily!
Canva is by far one of my favourite graphic design tools. I use this website for creating almost all the graphics I use on social media, my own blog and printable marketing material.
It is easy to navigate through, easy to upload your own images and perfect for creating collages.
The site is loaded with pre-sized designs perfect for all your businesses imaging needs. The image sizes vary from social media posts, blog graphics, magazine covers, letterheads and poster sizes. Once the image type you would like to create is chosen a variety of preloaded free and paid for images can be chosen from, edited and downloaded.
What is perfect about this site is that it is quick and easy to use with a large variety of imagery to choose from and an option to upload your own imagery too.
In addition to being able to use this on your computer, Canva has now released an app which can be downloaded and used on iPhones, iPads and any android device. Once logged in the imagery that you have created and saved on Canva can be downloaded or edited on any device.

Snapseed is a photo editing app which can be downloaded on both iOS and Android devices.
This app was produced by a subsidiary of Google and enables the people who use it to enhance their own photos and also apply a range of filters.
The app was designed to be simple and easy to use. In total there are 24 tools and filters to choose from, all to suit your exact needs. Simply choose the image you wish to edit, use the tools to crop, tune and add test to the image, then choose the filter you wish to apply.
The completed image can be saved over your original image or saved as a new image.
Prisma basically transforms your images and videos into pieces of art…literally! Choose from filters such as Edvard Munch, Van Gogh, Picasso and Levitan to name but a few.
Simply take an image or video using the iOS or Android app and choose from the wide range of filters below the image to create unusual and quirky designs.
Once finished, the images can be saved to your phone or uploaded onto your selected social media sites. Previously images downloaded had the Prisma logo attached to them. The app has since been updated and this has now been cut from the downloads.
The only flaw with Prisma is that images and videos previously captured cannot be edited. Only images and videos taken through the app can be edited and changed.
